Goin' Back - Very Best Of

I was looking forwards to listening to wishing and hoping not having heard it since my teenage. I was sadly let down by the distortion created by poor remastering. The treble was too strong cutting through the tenderness characteristic of Dusty's voice. I found the whole track so sharp it hurt my ears. A bitter disappointment. Followed by the disheartening discovery that almost all the track's had been remastered by the same producer. Too much treble too much noise reduction too much compression flattens the whole recording losing the dynamics as well as the depth that was so unique in Dusty's singing. I am now looking to see if I can find vinyl copies of her work. She was an important part of my youth and it is a shame to hear her lost to pop mechanics and mp3 quality sound. A real downgrading. I do recommend the owners of the recordings release better copies of this material.

Dusty always will be remembered for her way of singing entertaining and greatness. Highly recommended by me for the wonderful collection on this disc. A pop singer of the early era that took us all by storm, with rock and roll around having us on the go and than these songs calming us down a bit, we needed a break with so much energy been lost dancing like an idiot but enjoying every minute of it we couldn't be told back than. But that was the great era where there so was so much fun to be had, and a hell of a less problem as of today. This generation has not known good clean fun and it's a pity that it has gone. I rated this an A grade plus for the memories that takes us back on our journey of long ago. Enjoy!

Slowly building my MP3 Collection of music from my younger days. Saw Dusty in the 1960s both in the Springfields and when she went solo.This album includes some of the Springfields hits as well as the great solo hits she had. To be honest I'd have purchased it just for "I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten" and "Goin' Back"A great introduction to her music for younger people and a great reminder for us older people of the great music of our younger days.

If you're a fan of Dusty, this is possibly a great way of you getting most of your favourite tracks all in one convenient package. If you're not then after you've listened to this album, you probably will be!Personally, I prefer the later hits but many will have a soft spot for the early stuff when she was part of "The Springfields". Whilst the recording qualities vary, they're all perfectly listenable to!

Every song a gem - and despite various imitations, no one comes close to Dusty's class and talent.Quite simply, she is an icon and a fantastic female vocalist - these songs are classics and she sounds wonderful.As fresh now as they were in the 1960's - this is a great album by a world class artiste.
