Great product, note that Amazon's picture is not of the actual product
This is a great toolbox for my truck 2000 Dodge Ram, regular bed. It fits nicely and love the black color. I use it mainly to store extra items like tie downs, straps, chairs, tools, etc. The unit is well put together, nice and strong. Please note the one in the picture on Amazon is not actually this product - similar but not the same other websites also show wrong ones, only a few I found actually show the correct one (you will know when it looks tall). This product is the low profile (meaning top part isn't as high as the one pictured), it is also the slim line (means narrower then one pictured), is is also a Deep model (deeper then the one pictured). I did research before purchase so I knew what it was I was getting.

For the price it should be MUCH better quality
I ordered this unit drop-shipped to my father for his truck. This is the only manufacturer I could find that sells a box with the features I wanted: Slim for a shortbed pickup, Low-profile above the bedrails, single-lid crossover box, extra deep, heavier gauge aluminum than a soda can, Black. and Amazon had a better price than anybody else. It showed up in okay shape, a few dents and dings but nothing terrible and this isn't for a show truck so it was acceptable to my dad. The box appeared to be locked. It turned out that it was not, the key ring had been hung on the latch mechanism inside the box at the manufacturer to save the cost of a piece of tape and had managed to completely jam up the latch mechanism in transit. My dad pried the box open with a couple of screwdrivers, Luckily I was able to straighten everything back out. The interior piece that protects the latch crossbar was only held in place with one tack-weld, it was welded on the other side also but the weld did not hit the right spot so it did not connect the 2 parts. I am a welder, so repairing it is no big deal for me. My biggest complaint is that the box was cut and bent poorly. The lower corners did not line up properly so they simply bashed it in with a hammer to get the parts close enough and welded it together anyway. It looks like crap and consequently the inside is not square or uniform at the bottom of the box. There were 3 spots along the exterior where there are very sharp slag hooks that were never dressed down at the factory and needed hit with a file so people don't get cut. the big problem here is that it is black, so there are now spots that shine silver, but at least my 7 year-old son wont get cut open by the toolbox when he is loading firewood with grandpa. I wish Dee-Zee made a box comparable to this in material thickness and design because it would be much better quality and would have about the same price point.
