Mg 217 Psoriasis Shampoo Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)

This shampoo is well worth the extra money spent on it. It delivers exactly what it promises, decreased to elimination of my psoriasis and the elimination of my grandson's dandruff. Buy this shampoo before you buy any of the others.

I’ve been using this shampoo once a week for years. It is literally the only thing I’ve tried that keeps my scalp healthy. Without it, I quickly get scaly flakes on my head and am very itchy. It has never had a good smell to it, but lately the smell is even more offensive than usual. The last couple of bottles I ordered were overwhelmingly bad. My nostrils burn from the scent and it really stays in my hair. My brushes and towels smell like it too. It’s the trade off for not itching like crazy, I guess.

This shampoo has a very potent tar smell. I’ve used similar shampoos for psoriasis and this was the strongest smelling and wasn’t any more effective than others. The smell lasted in my hair for a week.

My dad has psoriasis and it's hard to look for psoriasis therapeutic medications in the country where I live in so I bought this scalp treatment for him.Tried the product for a few weeks and seems to reduce the itchiness on his scalp but has to keep using it. Compared to another product I tried, this product is a bit less effective, probably because it only has 3% coal tar while the other product that I bought contains 5% coal tar (made a huge difference). But for those with mild psoriasis, this product might help you to reduce the itchiness, but for those with serious psoriasis, I'd suggest to look for products with 5% coal tar which is more effective, and don't even bother to try anti-dandruff shampoo with zinc pyrithione.

I can't recommend this product enough if you're tired of having a dry and itchy scalp. This is the first shampoo I've tried that has actually worked to combat those issues.If you're reading this you probably know how frustrating it can be to go through a ton of different shampoo brands trying to get something to work.I'd recommend using it with some sort off shampoo scalp massager for maximum effect. I don't recall the exact one I purchased but anything similar to:  Shampoo Scalp Massage Brush Century #100 * Made in USA * 4 Pack (2 Black and 2 Red Brushes)  will work just fine.There is a noticeable "rubber tire" smell to the shampoo, but you get used to it and to be honest I kind of enjoy it in a weird way (maybe because it's saved me from daily misery).

This MG217 is super! I tend to have an oily scalp that gets a bit sensitive occasionally. The typical zinc pyrithione shampoos like Head & Shoulders and generic equivelents take care of dandruff, but don't do so well when my scalp gets sensitive. MG 217 is a runny, brownish green liquid that does smell of the coal tar it contains, but is perfumed nicely as well. It doesn't produce much of a lather with me which doesn't really matter. After using it a couple times, my problem clears up quickly. I now use it regularly a couple times a week with no further issues. It's great stuff in my opinion.

If salicylic acid isn't working for your flakes, get this stuff. Works awesome. I use it on my beard too.

PROS: I'm not sure that I "love" it, but it works very well to keep my scalp healthy. It was recommended by my dermatologist.CONS: This stuff is creosote-based. It smells a little, and turns your hair a little yellow.OVERALL: I had my first shampoo with creosote in Okinawa in 1956. It worked well then, and it works well now.

It takes my psoriasis away in 3 days. Its the only thing that controls it

Pretty much the only shampoo that seems to work, been using it for a couple of years and I always make sure I have extras.
