Screws left, unscrews right! Sucks up colour in barrel!
They are not the best quality water brushes to be sure. One of them was partially unscrewed and I tried to screw it and it wasn't happening. I ended up with two pieces that wouldn't go back together again. Frustrated, I was about to return them but it dawned on me to try to unscrew instead of screw and that worked. Somehow the designer made a mirror copy of the mechanism...Nevertheless, determined to give them a fair chance, I used them to do some watercolour painting. OMG what a disaster! The bristles separate and are not holding enough of the paint. I tried to dip them again and again and the paint was disappearing but nothing was coming on paper. Then I looked at the barrel... it had filled itself with paint. So another design fault is that this paintbrush does not have a non return valve. How frustrating!I have taken a photo showing the bristles and the barrel but seems Amazon no longer allows us to post pictures? Anyway, stay clear of these brushes. I just realised I had ordered them before from a different seller and returned them because I could not even open the barrel. And yes, you could give them to a child but it is so easy to unscrew the barrel trying to tighten it (as it is vice versa so counter-intuitive) that it may leak on their work and they will end up in tears! You have been warned...

Thought They Had Been Used
I have just received these brushes, and my first thought when I opened the package, was that they were already used. The smallest of the flat head brushes is very rough, as though someone has cut the top of the bristles. It feels like one of those cheap plastic bristle brushes they put in kids paint sets; the ones that spatter the paint all over the place. Also why does it have a different cap to the other brushes. It almost looks like the cap from a gel pen has been substituted. As the smaller flat head was one of the brushes I was going to be using most, I am not at all happy with my purchase. The other brushes are OK, but I've had better

Twists the opposite way
I was pretty confused at first and almost broke one of them trying to twist it open until I found out it turns the OPPOSITE way ! Weird design choice but other than that, the product does its job.

What a load of rubbish
Very disappointingThe tops do not fasten securely to bottom where the water is placedTwo of the brushes were unconnected to the bottoms and would not screw inA cheap price but definitely NOT a bargainOld adageIf it seems too good to be trueThen it is too good to be trueMy advice would be to but Derwent products insteadYou get what you pay forDisappointing 😕

Additional materials required
Really not sure what to do with these. No instructions so I'll have to learn from the internet. Probably need to buy paint but not sure what....

Do not buy
I NEVER write Amazon reviews but felt this product was so poor I just had to. Not good value for money at all, cheaply made, came without packaging other than a cellophane bag, no instructions and no paint. The picture is rather misleading, even the item subheading suggests that paint is included. Due to the lack of instructions I don’t even know what I am supposed to buy to use the product with! Don’t buy these ‘pens’.
