I (deliberately) lost some weight recently and, as a consequence, found all my trousers dangerously loose, causing a mixture of amusement and embarrassment to my children (although funnily enough not to me).Hmmm, I thought, time to get some braces - just like my dear ol' dad used to wear.I didn't do a massive amount of research but plunged in with a pair of (cue 1930s American private detective accent) blue Lafayon 'Y' Back suspenders (as the seller wonderfully refers to them).And a few days later, there I was, doing some COVID-19 government approved vigorous chasing of the pesky kids around the park with not a hint of trouser down humiliation or ignominy!The Lafayon's are really well made, comfortable, easy to fit (without help), a cinch to adjust and the double clips at the back are just genius. Oh, and they look great too.So delighted was I with my original blue pair that I went and bought another set - but this time in a slightly more racy brown/orangey colour. They're fab too.Looking for Brilliant Braces? Then look no further than the Lafayon 'suspender'!

Prior to purchasing these a week or so ago, the last time I wore braces they had cowboys and indians (sorry, Native Americans) on them, so I wasn't sure if I'd be able to wear them 60 years on, but these are great - much better than a belt. They are strong, elastic and comfortable and appear to be well designed and manufactured. The width is just right for me at about 35mm. I'm 5' 7" tall, but have dinky legs (26") and a l-o-n-g body. The braces would extend another 12", if required, so should fit most people. When they arrived, I was a bit concerned that the back connected might be uncomfortable - especially when driving - because it is quite robust, but I needn't have worried: you just don't know you are wearing them. A great product at a very good price.

PROS:*Comfortable, strong material.*Can be adjusted to match your size.*Colour is solid and not faded or blotchy etc.*Straps are even quite soft to touch, decent elasticity.*Clips are strong and have decent plastic teeth, no grip issues so far.*Large selection of colour options available.CONS:*Strap adjusters aren't the best quality and some may find them difficult to open/close.MISC:*No box or case, just a plastic product bag with company design on.CONCLUSION:For their quality, I think these braces are an absolute bargain.Would highly recommend - especially if you don't mind them coming in just a fancy plastic bag.

Really good, comfortable and - added bonus - I've found wearing these helps with your posture, because of the bit at the back, even sitting down I've found I've a tendency to sit more upright instead of slouching. Very pleased, these bracers have made me a convert - I'm never touching a belt again. Fitted straight out the box and the clasps are good! Have managed my usual household chores without my trousers falling down, and this included lugging 6 x 20kg bags of coal round the back of the house and carrying in wood - movement isn't impeded in any way - this includes bending down to do the fire, take out the ash, vacuuming, etc.The best bit though is sitting. I can't begin to describe how comfortable it is sitting down to work without a belt digging into you.Very, very pleased. Never thought I'd ever touch the things but, like I say, I have become a proper convert and will definitely be ordering more in the future.

I've ordered the strong wide braces on here before, a couple of pairs and they were excellent, far better than you can buy in the shops, my husband was really pleased with them. BUT these were not, they arrived on time with next day delivery, inside packaging was very smart but the braces were broken or they had come apart, and one of the buckles had come off, I tried to fix them, my husband has dementia so he couldn't do it, but didnt manage to. I would have returned them but when I looked for address it kept saying about printing off label or go to delivery office and do it there, I'm a elderly lady nearly in her 80's and it sounded too complicated , all I wanted was an address I could post them back to and get an exchange, so I've still got them and hope someone can fix them. The actual braces looked very good and strong so i would have been happy to exchange them for a same pair. Maybe if I get an address I'll be able to do that. I've never had to write a bad review before, and I'm sure I was just unlucky because they did look good and strong.

At work I wear typical workman's trousers with a whole bunch of pockets and flappy pockets. I'm usually walking about with a drill bit set, boxes of screws and multiple tools and just random crap, including a drill attached to my trousers so they end up really quite heavy... I hate belts, always have so don't wear one, and these damn things have never let me down in the month I've been wearing them... I'm learning to trust them! Never worn braces until recently and these are the first i tried. I'll never go back to belts.I'm shocked at how well they work and the comfort compared with being squished in the middle by a belt all day.

I have purchased braces from local shops and multi national stores which I found very unsatisfactory mainly because when I bent down the clips at the back came off and hit me at the back of my head.Now these braces arrived very quickly. Opening the envelop the braces were neatly packed in a presentation envelop . Very good. I took the belt off put on my beautiful braces and boy I can move up, down reach up and not once have they moved. Fantastic product.

Fantastic braces, great for everyday use. Appear well made. I love the double clasp at the back. My M&S braces are always coming undone but not these. Little else to be said that hasnt been said about these.Why the 4 stars then. Well I have noticed the material has started to kink on one side near the double clasp. I am guessing the tiny strands of elastic have snapped along the edge. The braces are not worn tight so I am a bit surprised. Its only a small area so I am not bothered and will buy again. Maybe a more snazzy pair next time.
