NOT U’Select model
U’Select is a specific model with a preset dial for specific grind sizes. On the correct model, you can see hash marks for the dial settings at the bottom of the grinder. Compare my photo to the actual model on the manufacturer’s website. In addition, mine arrived filled with peppercorns. That means another buyer returned it, and then the seller lazily shipped it to me without even bothering to remove the peppercorns. Also no packaging, bubble wrap, or anything to protect it from getting damaged bouncing around in the shipping box.

Definitely Not the U’Select Model
This one definitely did not have the U’Select VERY feature to adjust the grind size at the bottom of the pepper mill. Who cares? On the correct model, you can see hash marks for the dial settings at the bottom of the grinder. Compare my photo to the real model. This regular Paris model is cheaper than the "Paris U'Select model." Is this cheating for a higher profit?

If you need a peeper mill, you've found it!
My son loves this pepper mill. It is classic and looks beautiful! The functionality is wonderful. I am sure he will be using it for many years to come!

Disappointed
This product might have been used because the logo on the top was partially rubbed off. We could not figure out how to change the grind. It stopped working after a few uses. Too pricey to have this many issues so it was returned.

Truly classic
We replaced a ~30-year-old Peugeot with a supposedly ergonomic Oxo grinder and immediately regretted it. This new, shiny Peugeot is perfect. I love pepper, and I love that the Peugeot grinders allow one to very easily adjust the coarseness of the grind in the midst of grinding. It's kind of a pain to fill--a funnel of some sort is a good idea--but it really is the best grinder.

This is going to last
I've been through so many pepper mills. This one feels right. Spend the extra money. Even grinding and quality feel. I ordered the shorter one and it still holds enough pepper to satisfy this gal who hates taking the time to refill.

what was the vendor thinking????
This highly regarded pepper mill arrived in an Amazon box with an inflated plastic shipping “pillow” but unfortunately NOT in its own smaller box meant to house the mill. The metal nut (with “P” for ‘Peugeot’ emblazoned on the top of the nut) had come off the internal spindle and the pepper corns were strewn all over the inside of the Amazon shipping box. The wooden head which turns the spindle was dented with the impression of the threaded spindle, marring the beauty of the wood grain. The mill works perfectly and I have (mostly) gotten over my original reaction to the pathetic shipping standard of this vendor. They really deserve a zero star rating for stupidity and utter laziness. Anyone reading this far into the review is muttering, “you could have sent it back!” True, but I could just as easily have dented it letting it slip out of my hands and would have lived with it just the same. In some silly way it is more satisfying to me just to keep it but not let the vendor off scot free. We’re even now. My hope is you will have a little talk with the culprit in the back room and not let it happen again. A beautifully crafted product marred by terrible shipping protocol.

Durable, high quality unit with one downside.
This is a well made grinder and it feels good in the hand. The actual grinding mechanism has a real feel of quality unlike other cheaper units I've used. It's worth noting that this is not the unit with the grind size adjustment at the bottom. The only adjustment is available by the tension in the top screw. It's also worth noting that you need to keep an eye on that top screw as it does loosen with use and change the grind size. This would be the only downside to this unit as far as I can see.

Truely Superior Griding Mechanism
I had heard good reputation on Peugeot making pepper mills, and then when I traveled in France and Italy, there were Peugeot's on tables in pretty much all the restaurants I visited. I felt obvious difference between the Peugeot's and the cheaper alternatives I had used at home, and thus decided to buy one Peugeot. The pepper mill I have actually bought provides the quality exactly I expected. My wife is slightly disappointed by the logo different from the one on the picture...If you are still not sure whether to buy this or not, try one in a restaurant.

It will last you ages, if not a lifetime...
Seeing a poor review for this mill I had to counter with a positive one.I was compelled to buy a Peugeot mill as my Grandmother has one that is extremely good, despite its age and considerable usage over the years. It is a small and well made mill that has great adjustability and a very sturdy feel indeed. Grind can be adjusted from powder-fine to chunkily cracked. The hopper into which the pepper corns go is small and requires filling regularly but this is no problem for us. If you foresee this being a probelm, buy a bigger one but keep it Peugeot...

Missing part - rectified
Unfortunately the screw for the top was missing and the pepper corns fell out. Not very impressed as this is a relatively expensive item and a Christmas present. I have generated a Return so hopefully this will arrive for the big day.Return received just in time for Christmas and although complete, the top of the mill is slightly paler than the base but there was no time to return for a second time. As it was bought for my husband, he has not noticed!

Can't stop looking at that ugly head screw.
Not sold the same product pictured. The one shown has a nice brass cap on top whereas these have some cheaply made, badly cast piece of metal which has a cheap looking logo on top. It is a huge distraction from the rest of the mill which is actually made from a nice piece of wood, the grinding mechanism is still top quality, but that head screw just sickens me. Nice way for them to save 50p a unit I suppose.
