Works great
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I wanted to get this because I hate to get out of bed to turn my lamp off each night. It took an extra day or two to get here, and when I got it wasn't in a box. Just a clear plastic bag. But, that's fine, after reading on here, how to set it up no problem. It has two areas to use; one plug-in area uses claps 2 times, and the other 3 times. Once I knew which one I had plugged my lamp into (3 claps), I made sure the lamp was turned on and then practiced clapping, Yeah! Works great!

works as designed - great for weak individuals with limited dexterity
I purchased this for my mother who has very poor dexterity due to arthritis. She is able to clap - although a bit weakly so. Nevertheless, she can now control her room light instead of waiting for us to come by and adjust her lighting for her. Some days, as we were working or running errands, she would have to patiently wait for us to turn her lamp on or off. Now she has a little more control. If there was anything that could be changed, I wish I could adjust the sensitivity of the clap sound. At her weakened state, her claps are soft and are not always detected by the device. We moved the clapper up to her night stand and secured it safely to the side by bringing up a heavy duty extension cord through the table, yet out of the way. This makes it physically close to her. So far so good.

Works/partially
I've had this for well over a year and it is still working but the bottom port doesn't work anymore, it used to though. The remote is great when I don't feel like clapping and sometimes when it doesn't take my clapping input. Also turns on if I laugh just right or my cat knocks something over. But I love the fact that I don't have to get up to turn my light off.

Very stubborn and sensitive at the same time.
Very touchy at times, very stubborn other times. Couldn't get it to work on my mother -in-laws touch lamp. I took it home. Sometimes it turns the lamp on if there's a loud noise on TV. Then I have to keep clapping π over and over to turn it off. π€·

I should have gotten one sooner.
In the "Why didn't I do this before?" file:The Clapper. Those of us over a certain age will remember the commercials. "Clap on! Clap off! Clap on, clap off, the Clapper!" My specific memory is the last few seconds, with an "old" (to me) lady with white curly hair clapping her hands twice in a very succinct fashion and she rolls over in bed as her light shuts off. That's me now. I should have done it before the hip operation but so it goes. I have the original house automation appliance and can shut my nightstand light without having to reeeeeach over there (it's not close, the way things are set up). I can nestle into bed with River beside me, snuggle up to my pregnancy pillow on the other side (it's great for my bad back, hip, knees, etc. I highly recommend it and will link it in the comments) and clap my hands to shut the light.Of course, it also turns the light on and off when I'm clapping my hands at the dogs because they're being buttheads and I need extra emphasis on what I'm saying to them. Or when I close the nightstand drawer a little too hard. Or the bed shifts against the wall. Or I drop something on the hardwood floor, which is happening way more often than is necessary. If I applaud something, my bedroom becomes a disco. But I don't have to contort myself and hurt my new hip to shut my light anymore. Who needs fancy AI-enabled house automation when you can just clap your hands? Alexa, Google, etc. can buzz off. Or, clap off if you like.5 claps for the Clapper. πππππ

Clap on clap off... So cool
Way cool, I remember adds for this year's ago, never thought I would have one. There are two separate channels for two separate plugs. Two claps for one amd three for the other. Very nice when you cannot get to the cord to turn off a floor lamp. One little problem is that whenever there is a series of two sounds there is a chance the unit will turn on or off. For example i had it on and my kid closed a two door cabinet in the kitchen first one then the other and the light turned off... Nothing major though. The hardiness far outweighs that problem.

Very convenient. Love it.
I bought this Clapper to replace an old one that had broken. Shipping took nearly a couple of weeks. The only complaint I have is with the Clapper's remote control. It is extremely hard to open the battery compartment. I wish they would come up with a better design. However, they do supply the button type batteries which is good . I love the convenience of the remote as I can control lights and my fan from my bed.
