Thought it would be a sweet and fluffy romance, but got instead a very strong and bittersweet story. Truly amazing
The book begins with Bronte meeting Alex in a Club, each of them on hen/stag night. Both of them are newly single. They connect instantly, and ends up having a one night stand. One year forward they meet again. Even though it was only meant to be a one-night stand, Bronte never forgot Alex, and it doesn't seem that Alex forgot about Bronte neither, but this time he's about to get married to the girlfriend he was on a break from, when he met Bronte. Working together with Alex every single day is difficult for Bronte. The whole situation with Alex is one big mess, and even though it's a big part of her life, I loved that the story is not centered about them getting together or not, because there is something there is much more present in her life, which is figuring out how to deal with something that happened in the past. She can't move forward alone or with anyone before she has accepted/forgiven her past.I really like Bronte. She's a woman that's not scared of following her ambitions. She's very straight forward, and not a shy person..... but there is also this secret side to her. She's very affected by something that happened in her past, and it make her sound very cynical about love at times. She's not a big fan of weddings. Doesn't believe in marriage or god - imagine being a wedding photographer then?It brought something to her character everytime she witnessed a wedding through her lens, and she grows through the book.I've read all of Paige's books, and is a big fan of hers, so obviously you might not take my words for something, but I truly think this is the best she has ever written.I did the mistake of thinking this would be a sweet and fluffy romance with weddings, but what I got instead was a very strong, and bittersweet story. There were times were I thought, wow this is much darker than what she use to write, but somehow the tone in the book is still kept very light. Bronte's friends brought a lot of light to the novel. Lachie especially, who is a fellow aussie and wedding singer. He's a warm person, and to quote Paige "This boy has more confidence than Johnny frigging Jefferson." LOL. He's really great. The ladies thinks so too ;)I love the way Paige write. She has this talent for setting a mood, and place with very few words. Making her heroines warm, funny and strong women. I love that these women are someone you can look up to.There were many great surprices in this book, and I can't really tell you more without giving anything away. But know this, this story brought just as many laugh as it did tears.A great book - no, that doesn't even cover it - An amazing book.

Wow that was a trip!
So sweet and romantic and frustrating. OMG! But I can't resist a book tvat gives me constant stabs in the heart. The beginning was so good and the story developed in a surprising way. I could have had less descriptions of all the weddings but there was one man I def couldn't get enough of. I stayed up all night reading it and yes, this was a great chick flick. Read it!

Paige Toon has done it again!
She made me fall in love with her latest characters as per usual. I had to stay up until 2.30 in the morning to finish it. I love how again she has linked her characters with those in her other books. Chick lit that hooks you in. Thoroughly recommend to those wanting something light to read but warning: you won't want to put it down!

Not her best, but still a great book.
So Paige Toon is in my exclusive top favorite authors club. This was probably my least favorite and that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. Ok, so maybe part of it I didn't like and here it is. I am a wedding photographer and this book stressed me out. I don't really like reading books about wedding photographers because it feels like work to me, and if you know what kind of books I like you will know that I don't like to read books that are any work.So that was my problem with it, still good and I I'm so glad she is the kind of author who can spit out books pretty fast, because I LOVE THEM!

Wonderful, as always!
I love Paige Toon's book and this one is one her best yet. You will need to block off a whole day because you literally won't put it down. I get caught up in these books and always have a big smile on my face when I finish one.Paige is a chick lit genius!!

Great book series - Super Buchreihe mit ineinander verstrickten Geschichten
The book series from Paige Toon is brilliant. She managed to write single stories, so that it does not matter at all which book of the series you start to read. But on the other hand the main actors of one book are still present in other books, so it feels like you get a bit of the whole story with every book youre reading. All the stories are love stories, but written in a fresh and funny way. all the books are not too big, so you can take them easily on holidays and nowadays you can get them as e-books as well.

Thirteen Weddings - Paige has blown me away again!
I tried to read this slowly and savour it...but...nope - ended up bingeing on it and finishing it in a matter of days (that's fast for me!).No `spoilers' here - so feel free to read on if you haven't quite made up your mind whether to read Thirteen Weddings or not - I try to just give you an insight without revealing any juicy plot details. Thirteen Weddings has so many twists and turns it gave me mental whiplash. I got completely lured in - you think you know the characters, you think you know how the story is going to pan out, and then BAM. It completely veers off and I can't put the book down because I simply have to know what happens next. Tension? Tick. Suspense? Tick. There is a dark side to Bronte's past - and Paige does a great job at dropping hints throughout the book, but not revealing what her secret is until much further on into the story. And it's a shocker - in fact, it had me in tears - it was heart breaking. As for the `lurve' side of things - I adore the way Paige deals with romantic situations - there is just enough detail in there to get your imagination going - without getting down to the - ahem, `nitty gritty'. Less is definitely more here.So - what about the male love interests? Well, they are both HOT - yes, there is more than one - not just Alex. I fell for them both - and still can't decide. That's all I'm saying.I also appreciated the detail about the weddings - it reminded me of the Adam Sandler film `The Wedding Singer' (one of my faves) - each bride, groom and wedding is completely different - there is just enough detail to get a good picture in your mind of each wedding, before moving on - so you don't get bored. As for the wedding photography aspect - Paige clearly did a lot of background research to bring this craft alive, giving the reader enough technical detail so you can appreciate how complex it is - it's not just a case of focusing and clicking the camera. It's not just the weddings though - Paige deals with marriage in this book too - anyone who's married will know that yes, weddings are fun, and getting married is exciting, but marriage is hard work, and there are times when your marriage will be tested.Look out for Polly, Bronte's old school friend here - you'll want to slap her at times, but her appearance with her husband Grant throughout this book is a good example of what hard graft marriage really is.If you're familiar with Paige's work and have read all or most of her books, you'll be pleased to see familiar characters popping up. It's like keeping in touch with old friends. There are also some lovely new characters in this book, in the form of Bronte's work friends, and I was pleased to see the return of Bridget, who I remember from the 'Longest Holiday'. Everyone needs a friend like Bridget - she tells it like it is!As for how the story ends - well, I don't think Bronte's story has ended - it's far from over. That girl has a lot going on. I can't say I was entirely happy with her decision at the end - but that doesn't mean I didn't like the ending - I don't think we've heard the last from Bronte, and that's what I like about it. She's in the right place - for now.Overall, I found this to be a very thought - provoking novel - it will make you think about religion, marriage, relationships, friendships, chemistry and love - a great early- summer read as we enter the `wedding season', this book and many of its characters will stay with you long after you've finished the last page.

...
It's been a while since I read any Paige Toon and with a very recent binge on a crime series I needed something to break the monotony of death! Enter this PT book and one day later I can certainly say I definitely broke the cycle. Bronte is our main character and we see her attend a Hen Night in England following her departure from Australia. On that fateful night she met Alex and they experienced an amazing night together, and she thought that was the end of it.Fast forward and Bronte is now working for a magazine in London, and is about to meet a new colleague! Turns out that Alex is her new colleague and despite the amazing night they once had he is now engaged. Bronte is a very likeable and relatable character and it's clear from the outset that things are not all as they seem with Alex's engagement. Alongside the magazine job Bronte becomes involved in her passion for photography and ends up assisting at weddings (hence the title) where she meets Lachie. This book (albeit a little cheesy) was the perfect recipe for the sort of book I needed. It certainly didn't follow the pattern or storyline ending I expected which made it all the more enjoyable. A very light hearted and easy book to read which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Decent.
I had Paige Toon recommended to me as I'm a huge fan of chick-lit/romance/comedy and apparently Paige is one of the best. I picked up this novel as my first experience of Paige and... well, it'll be my last.It wasn't awful. It was perfectly decent, but my issue stems with how Paige writes. I don't enjoy the internal dialogue, the seemingly random memories and dreams that come flooding back halfway through the book, and - though I really liked the ending given the story (it was what I was thinking should happen exactly!) - I don't feel like there was enough momentum between Bronte and Lachie or Alex to justify choosing either of them. It all felt very forced and without reason.Honestly... it kind of felt like lazy writing. Regardless, I did end up cheering internally with the ending, so that's a win in my books.
