Awesome trimmer, I use it for my face/beard twice a week. The blades are super sharp out of the box and can cause some hair pulling and knicks if you're not super careful, but they wear in after a few uses. I also used the blade oil that came with the unit which helps break it in as well. The trimmer in the hand feels nice and natural although I do wish there were some more grips and texture to hold onto as the smooth metal and plastic can get slippery with the blade oil and natural oil from hands. Battery life is outstanding and it charges super fast as well. The unit feels decently heavy and very durable. Only downside is the price, but I hope that this trimmer lasts a good 10 years. I ordered the corded version of this previously and while it's nicer and smaller, the heavy cord definitely gets in the way so I'll stick with the cordless.

I opened the Amazon box and the Wahl trimmer box was well padded against shipping movement. So I was really surprised when I opened the Wahl box and see the trimmer laying backwards in the molded black plastic container which didn’t prevent its movement as intended and made it bounce around loose! Obviously someone had taken it out and did whatever with it and put it back incorrectly! Then I tried to turn it on and it wouldn’t. Lithium Ion batteries have a partial to full charge so someone was using it until it quit, or the battery was defective or the switch is broken! So I am returning it and they are sending a replacement. One of the reviews said how they received a trimmer that had hair in the blades and others receiving obviously used trimmers. So I took a chance and bingo, bad news! One buyer said he should have bought it directly from Wahl. I thought I would take a risk (same price and free shipping also), at least if it is defective, used or whatever, the shipping back and forth would be faster! So here we go! Maybe two times will be a winner?!This review is for the replacement one. I opened the box which was the same size as the first one. When I opened it there was no packaging paper like the first one had which made the Wahl box slide around during shipment. The trimmer did turn on this time and works great. Actually the specially coated blades are sharper than my first uncoated blades on this type of trimmer I got almost 5 years ago.So the second try worked out and now I have to return the defective one. Because of the improvement with the second one, I changed my rating.

This thing deserves 6 stars. It does it all. I haven’t met a hair this thing couldn’t cut.

This is probably the worst thing I ever owned. It doesn’t hold a charge, so forget buying a travel case for it, unless you’re taking the charger with you.Even the charger sometimes doesn’t charge it, so you can’t use it.There is no off switch. Hence, why it probably doesn’t hold a charge .All in all, it’s an expensive product that is poorly designed. Definitely not profession grade. This is my first time buying a Wahl product, so I probably won’t by any from them if this is any indication of what I’m getting.
