Great Product - Hobbyist & Professionals
Cons:- Battery: must remove screws to change batteries. Not big deal, but this would be a "nice to have" feature.- Beep: unit continuously beeps when measuring near zero ohms. Perhaps can be disable but haven't discovered how yet. Again not a big deal.Pros:- Purchased during Amazon Prime deal (July 8 - 11) and got fantastic price break- Overall solid and strong construction (possibly could easily withstand 3 feet drop)- Good display: easy to read in normal household ligting; and option turn on back light (illuminate)- Easily detect AC voltage near houshold sockets or behind walls- Easily measure AC and DC current (amps) using clamp (which easily opens, right amount of torque)- Provides option to automatically or manually perform measurements- Solid and durable case for unit, temperature sensor and measurement cables- Great for hobbies, or professional electrician or electronics work- Pleased with product, and would recommend or purchase again

HT208F has LCD screen visible in bright sunlight
I own both the HT208D and the HT208F. Both are a great value with a great many useful functions. I originally bought the D model because I wanted to measure the peak inrush current on our RV AC when I was debugging what turned out to be an on board generator problem. Even though I have a lot of good meters at home, none had inrush capability. The D performed very admirably, but as mentioned by many others, the display can be difficult to see in bright sunlight. Still, I liked the meter so much that I wanted a second one. That's where the F model (HT208F) comes in: It's not immediately apparent, but the F is identical to the D except that it has a standard (backlit) LCD display that is visible in bright sunlight. So if this is a concern for you, get the F model. It's a quality meter with features for most everyone.

Good meter, a couple of things to note
Seems like a well made meter and I like the case it comes with. I primarily bought this to measure inrush current on a pump, and it succeeded at that task. One thing I noticed was that there is a minimum current needed to trigger the inrush measurement. I saw a review of a different Kaiweets meter that said the minimum was 10A so I'm going to assume it's the same on this one. If you need to measure inrush current under 10A, for standard US NEMA 1-15P and 5-15P devices, just get yourself a linespliiter like this one: amzn.to/3VRovBv and use the 10x hole. The 10x hole causes the meter to read 10x the current, so just divide your measurement by 10 to get the real current. In lieu of a linesplitter, you can also wrap the wire you're clamping multiple times around the clamp arm and then divide your reading by the number of wraps to get the true value.Another thing I didn't realize when I bought this is that to measure current you can't clamp the whole power cord, you must clamp only one wire (either the hot or neutral). The device I needed to measure is 230V and uses 6-20 plugs, so I had to buy a short 6-20 extension cable like this one amzn.to/3zyYmzZ , then I cut open the outer insulation so I could clamp only one of the wires.A few minor complaints:- I found myself accidentally hitting the hold button a lot, not really a big deal.- The placement of the flashlight is such that the clamp blocks the light. I guess it's still useful to help you see what you're clamping when the clamp is open, but even still one arm is stationary so half the light is always blocked.- When you switch modes it always defaults to DC and you have to hit the FUNC button to switch to AC. It's annoying enough that if I were going to use this meter regularly and I thought I probably didn't need the DC function, I'd just get the AC only model.

Incredible Clamp Meter
In my business before I retired, my default electrical test equipment was always Fluke. Not just because it's some of the best available, but because I could write it off as an expense.I'm retired now so cost IS an issue, so when I needed to replace my defunct Fluke clamp meter, I bought the HT208F because of all of it's quite advanced features for the price. The $10 extra to get the "F" display over the "D" display is well worth it because the F version is so much easier to read in sunlight with the backlight available for low light areas.I'll finish up to say that that I am VERY impressed with this meter. It's 1/5 of the cost of a Fluke that has similar options and it's seems to be quite accurate compared to other Fluke meters I still have (including my 117).I now use this clamp meter as often or more than I use my Fluke 117 because of the easier way to measure amps (and Inrush current). I often use the HT208F with the Triplett ET200 AC Line Splitter and GFCI Outlet/Receptacle Tester which makes measuring current even easier.

A Great Meter
This is the first Inrush Meter for me. It is very easy to use. It is readable in the Sun.

Dim Display Brightness
Dim display. It did brighten up for a short while, but returned to poor. Another reviewer mentions there's a backlit display version, but that wasn't apparent. The Hold button is in an annoying location and too easy to press unintentionally. There is no lead current measurement capability, so forget milliAmps. Doesn't measure capacitance. The Probes don't terminate in banana plugs, so alternate tips are limited. This brand does sell a lead set with interchangeable tips for a good price. Not sure if other brand tips might fit.The dial selector is not as smooth rotating as the high quality brands. This is my precursory impression, but the unit is limited as a primary DVOM.

Best Bang for the Buck!
Was looking for a quality made clamp on amp meter that wasn't too expensive. While I bought it for it's capability to check Inrush current, it makes a pretty decent general purpose meter. Was thrilled to get it before tariffs kicked in. Purchase with confidence.
