This is without question the best landscaping book I have ever read. Finally, a book for home gardeners, that has a down to earth approach. Using Moir Messervy's book, I can see my home landscape in an entirely different, simplified way. I no longer fear my front garden! I have a new plan, and I feel confident about it! This book breaks down common landscape issues into small, manageable bits, and encourages the reader to think about them in a new way. I love Moir Messervy's notion of garden archetypes! I look around my garden, and I see that I already have several - I now have a better understanding of why I do. This is a book that I will refer to over and over again. I can't recommend it highly enough!!

I have read many landscape books, but this one is my favorite because of her holistic approach. The author's aim is to help us to connect with our outdoor spaces. Her methodology is unique and inspiring. Instead of just planting a garden, I am inspired to slow down, really tap into my dreams and desires of how I would like to experience the outdoors around my home, come up with a plan and then implement it in stages. Very insightful.

I have found this book to be an exceptional aid while developing my yard. My lot is 50' X 120' with a wide driveway and lots of hard angles. This book has offered numerous suggestions. Many people have commented in my yard
