Sturdy and fit inside backpack
I bought a different pair of hiking sticks that I really liked, but they were just a bit too large to put in a backpack, so I returned them and got these. As an older, heavy woman, I was a bit skeptical about how sturdy these would be. But, I was about to visit a friend in Colorado who likes to hike, and as I'm not always confident in my ability to walk on uneven ground, I decided to try these. Now, maybe it's like Dumbo being able to fly because of his belief in the feather, but these sticks proved to be very helpful. They gave me the steadiness I needed to walk in the "iffy" spots, and having something to hold onto made it much easier to walk in general. I'm so glad I purchased them! It did take looking at a video on You Tube to figure out how to put them together, as the print in the instructions is too small to read, but once I did that, it was very easy. I also like that these come with many tips as well as a carrying case. Definitely worth the purchase.

Poles fold down to a compact size!
I purchased these poles for a hiking trip out west and they were great! My friends also purchased poles from Amazon but I found mine were the ONLY poles that fit inside a standard size backpack. These poles fold down to a compact size and will fit inside a daypack. Very convenient! They come with all the standard attachments and worked as described.

Good poles that don't break the bank
The media could not be loaded. I have arthritis, especially my ankles, so I can loose my balance quickly. After several years of building my strength up I'm finally ready to get back out but I needed poles that wouldn't break the bank. This set is perfect! Used them while walking/hiking the ancient lava beds of Eastern Washington. Handles and wrist straps are VERY comfortable, adjusting for height very easy, bag that holds all the various tips (and to store poles) super handy. I'm a big girl, these poles did not bend. The color is really nice, I have the red and hubby has the blue. We are VERY happy!

Solid, light-weight and great for the price!
These are just perfect for what I wanted - a pair of lightweight hiking poles adjustable and a nice color. I wanted something bright a) for visibility to others in case of emergency and b) so I'm less likely to leave them somewhere inadvertently. (like after a picnic, hiking home, which I have done before;-) )For those reviewers who couldn't figure out how to put them together, read the instructions - it's actually a very clever system - the upper section of pole has a locking mechanism which loack all sections tight.I highly recommend these - they are a very good price for the quality.

Absolute garbage. Waste of money.
I ordered these a month ahead of time for a backpacking trip. I didn’t test them ahead of time because the reviews were so great, so I just chucked them in my tub of gear and didn’t think more of them. This past week I went on my trip and when I tried to use the poles, they were completely useless. They don’t go together as the instructions say they do. The sections just flop all over the place o matter what you do. The wire inside that is supposed to be taught is exposed and loose. Complete waste of money. Do not bother. Get poles that are not collapsible/compact and save yourself the headache.

Affordable walking sticks
Used these for a 4 day trek in Peru and they held up well. I appreciated them being small enough to fit in a carry on bag. It's tricky to assemble for the first time but once you figure it out, it's easy to put them together and break them back down. I would recommend these for a beginner/intermediate hiker.

Didn't get to use them :-(
The only reason I am giving this a 4 instead of a 5 star rating, is I did not get to use these on vacation. Unfortunately I had emergency surgery instead. I would strongly suggest springing for the little extra expense and get the ones made from aircraft aluminum (as these are) because you sure wouldn't want them to break on a hike. This set collapses so you can carry them in your checked luggage. I am looking forward to using these in the future after a possible knee replacement.

Instructions suck
Can't beat the price. And seems to be OK quality. But the print on the assembly instructions is so damn small, I literally had to get a magnifying glass to read them. And there are a few extra parts in here that I have no idea what they are or how to use them. See, the idea here guys, is that I'm so pleased with my purchase that I tell others and they buy too. What the hell good is it to leave a consumer in the dark ? Use your damn brain ! It's almost as though this wasn't their product and they just repackaged it for sale and spent the absolute minimum they needed to, just so they could say they included some instructions etc. Big hint guys. Those things count for a lot in my book. And I don't think I'm alone. But, you have my money now. And that's what really counts , right? I may post some other review after I've actually had a chance to use them. See , that's the buzz kill about these instructions. you're all excited to receive your new toy. And you want to unpack it and use it right away ! But then, you're wasting time looking for a magnifying glass just so you can read the damn instructions. Uuugh !
