The base of these things is a very thin plastic. My kid dropped it on carpet and a piece broke off of the base. Still works but I’d be weary.

I guess I was under the impression that these were going to plug into a wall ha ha…, not, better. go buy some rechargeable batteries, but they make wonderful night lights for children.

I bought these for my nephew for Christmas. He is autistic and they really caught his attention. They really aren't very durable but buying gifts for him are hit and miss and I didn't want to spend a lot on something that he wouldn't l like.

This is a fun little decoration for any room. And the little frills on it are fun to touch. Reminds me of the one I used to have when I was a child.

This thing is awful. The little plastic fiber strings are constantly falling apart.However, the worst part is that I noticed my 2yo was chewing on something. I began fishing in his mouth and noticed it was a piece of the medal portion of this thing. I have no idea how he didn’t cut his mouth. And if he would have swallowed it, I have no idea what would have happen. I am so angry. I get that this is inexpensive but it SHOULD not be falling apart this way. I am disgusted. The panic I felt when I pulled that out of my son’s mouth is unexplainable.

He just loves it. It résides on his nightstand so we can have light in his room when he is sleeping and it stayed on for a long time still going. Last time I went over it was on. I gave it to him a month and a half ago.I’m not sure if it has an on and off button he told me he leaves it on all the time but again he does have Alzheimer’s

Fiber Optic lamp review:The LED fibers stayed pretty clumped up and refused to spread out, so it didn't look so pretty, it also wasn't many fibers altogether, probably a bit larger than a quarter-sized cross-section all together.For the price though it's super cool possibly as a gift for little kids(?) It added a magical touch to the room at night, works excellent as a kind of night light. My favorite thing was running my hand over the tops of the fibers. The drawback is that as the power of the batteries goes down, so does the intensity of the light, and there's not an enormous variety of colors. cyan, red, green, and dark blue is what I saw.

EDIT: When my nieces saw this at my house (now retired teacher and had this in my classroom), they were in love! They are 10 and 8 years old and said they wanted one for their rooms--so I purchased two more and they got them for Christmas gifts. They were a huge hit! Perfect amount of light and very different than using a night-light for ambiance. I would purchase again! Mine has held up extremely well considering all the wear and tear of a classroom and the constant touching by my students!I have this in my middle school classroom and the students love it as much as I do! They think it's magical and I have to remind them to not touch it--although they do ALL the time! It's fun in a dark room as well for ambiance or a kid's nightlight. Worth the price and super fun!
