Sharp knives are essential for work in the kitchen. The sharpening kit is perfect. It includes everything you need from rough grinding to polishing and brightening your knives. Do take care to follow the instructions -- there are also many YouTube videos on the subject. The angle guide was necessary for the first knife, but not thereafter. It was easy to get a feel for the correct angle of sharpening. The photo is the result of the product, a gleaming sharp knife!

I started sharpening with whetstones back in January if this year, and these are good beginner stones. They are inexpensive, but are fast-cutting, so you don't have to spend a lot of time on a particular stone. They are not as responsive (show a slurry) as I would like, but they get the job done, and done very well for the price.

I sharpened my super dull two kitchen knives. There definitely is a science to this skill that I do completely different than how it’s explained out there. Sadly it’s too complicated to explain my procedure.But if you have any knowledge of how to sharpen knives then this set is very good.The way I see it is the set already paid for itself vs me getting my knives sharpened by any service. Plus I have it for many future sharpenings as well.One tip: how long and how much effort will be needed to sharpen your knives will depend on the condition of your blades. Mine were extremely dull but with care, caution, and a whole lot of time and many more passes then what others say are necessary, I was able to get my knives perfectly sharpened!!! Purposely I didn’t make them razor sharp as I really dont need to slice my hand by any means.Good purchase

Ground and honed an antique plane blade that was in bad shape. Everything worked well. Great kit for a part time woodworker like me. Way cheaper than individual pieces. I can upgrade the pieces as needed, but so far there’s no need. The leather strop is a bit thin, but I’m not ready for it anyway.

I’m new to sharpening blades. So I picked up this kit to sharpen my woodworking tools. I don’t have a reference point to compare these stones against other ones but I was able to put a crazy sharp edge on some of my tools and shine them to a mirror finish. So they work. Durability long term I can’t say. I want to get a set of diamond plates to compare since all the pros say that’s the way to go. I just don’t want to drop the cash for them when so far these work fine and give me sharpness where I can shave my arm hairs with the blade after honing. I’ll probably switch when these stones stop meeting my needs.

Great entry-level set of sharpening stones and sharpening accessories for under $30. My only gripe is that the packaging was poor and that two of the stones had chips in them. Would have given 5 of 5 stars had the product arrived in factory-new condition. Was able to bring life back to several old low-end kitchen and fillet knives

After waiting for a while until my Japanese knife set felt like need some sharping, I finally got this set of stones to sharpen them. The stones are protected by rubber frame that fit well in a bamboo base. The base is not slippery on my counter top. So overall it is easy to sharpen the knives without too much problems. It is useful to watch some YouTube examples on proper use of stones. The set includes stone to maintain the flatness of the sharping stones and a belt for final touch.

This is a great product and easy for beginners it has the whole set you need to restore your knife and get it very sharp and with the angle hide it’s great for beginners and can help them learn. The two sharpening stones are good quality and can quickly help u have a very sharp knife overall I’m impressed with this product
