I recently purchased the DC97-16742A Dryer Lint Trap Screen Filter Replacement for my Samsung dryer, and I couldn't be happier with it! This replacement fits perfectly in my model (DV45H7000EW/A2), and it was super easy to install. The filter is durable and well-made, and it even comes with a flap, which helps trap more lint and improves airflow. I immediately noticed my dryer running more efficiently after using this. The included vent cleaner brush was a nice bonus—it reached deep into my dryer vent to remove built-up lint. Highly recommend this replacement filter! It’s a great value for the price and has my dryer working like new again.

The stock version of this that came in our Samsung dryer was broke from the store and we had no idea. The "flap" was broke off and had dropped down inside the vent. The rest of the filter trap then never set down all the way. But since that's how it was "NEW", we never new it was an issue. Ended up that we had so much stuff going through the vent trap into the inside of the dryer that it blew the heating element. Fortunately that was fixable and when looking into that we found the plastic parts of the "flap" and discovered the issue. Samsung wanted like 60 bucks for one of these. This was was a fraction of that price and WORKS PERFECTLY! You have to make sure to fully SNAP it closed and it's a little finicky. But just press around it in a few spots and it snaps shut and your good to go. Then if fits down into the vent slot SUPER TIGHT/FLUSH like the factory one should have.

I took one star off because the top did not fit flushly into the opening right out of the package (the taper of the corners was slightly too sharp, preventing proper insertion into the slot), however, this was something that was easily fixed with a dremmel. Other than that, the specifications of the design matched exactly to the original part.Once the fit of the top was corrected, it was absolutely perfect! The original part that came with the dryer was flimsy, and the bottom clasp regularly separated and fell off, letting way too much lint through (which required regular vacuuming inside the dryer to rectify). This one requires a bit more attention to ensure proper closure... but once it's closed, it's closed! Screen material also feels a bit more sturdy!Definitely worth it!
