Eureka Season 2
This is a fun TV show to watch.
O**!
Eureka grabbed me right away with the fun, quirky music by Mutato Muzika
Eureka grabbed me right away with the fun, quirky music by Mutato Muzika, and then Bear Mcreary, the same guy whoâs done the music on Battlestar Galactica, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Black Sails, Outlander, Black Mirror, and the list goes on.Season one of Eureka was great. If it had lasted just one season it would be on my list of one season wonder sci-fi shows like Firefly, The Prisoner, UFO, Brisco County, Jr., Eerie, Indiana, Jericho, etc. But it went on, dropping some of the funniest characters, and turned into the Allison Blake show. Nathan Stark, out of there. Beverly Barlowe, out of there. Spencer Martin, out of there. Jim Taggart, out of there. And then they got rid of Zoe Carter! But they had to bring her back for the last season, season five, so they could end the series with a bookend, a mirror image of Zoe and her father driving out of town, passing themselves driving into town, which is how the series began.Even the addition of the Wil Wheaton and Felicia Day characters couldnât rescue this series after they turned it into the Allison Blake show. When Iâm not watching sci-fi and fantasy shows Iâm reading sci-fi and fantasy. Authors I like include Douglas Adams, Taylor Anderson, Isaac Asimov, Paolo Bacigalupi, Jack Campbell, Orson Scott Card, Arthur C. Clarke, Earnest Cline, Suzanne Collins, Abe Evergreen, Terry Goodkind, Joe Haldeman, Robert A. Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Hugh Howey, Robert Jordan, George Martin, Larry Niven, Andre Norton, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, John Scalzi, John Steakley, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Andy Weir.

A light hearted scifi series that's fun and clean.
Third time through because it's enjoyable. Colin Ferguson was perfect for the character and works at being a good dad. The "content" description is misleading. The "violence" is things crashing and blowing up, very few deaths, the "alcohol" is social drinking of which there is very little and appropriate in the storyline, the vulgar language is of the rare "hell!" variety with no blasphemy, -- and the "sex," what little there is, is not the sweaty rollling around in the sheets with boobs and booty hanging out .... and again, not the usual "in your face, sucker" soft porn type. Just thought clarifying the description which might be a turn off for some.A nice series which has a feel good wrap up.

So Unique, One of the Last Great Shows of the 2010's Era
The premise for this show is so interesting, and you never know what is going to happen next! I love that it's one of the last shows that was really great before the 2010's hit and everything pivoted to being entirely about flagrant sex and impropriety. If I wanted to watch porn I would just go do that, you don't have to dump it all into a TV show that WOULD be interesting otherwise. This is one of the last interesting, PG-rated shows made in this country that I can watch with my kids and I just can't recommend it enough!

While Season One really appealed to my sense of whimsey, Season Two got a wee bit complicated. I liked it enough to access it and watch, but it quickly got more complicated than it needed to be regarding Kevin. Kinda forced. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the story line. But to be truthfull, the interaction between Nathan Stark and Jack Carter was a real PITA. In some ways the arc of the storyline was too remenescent of Moonbase 1999 where the protagonist was always dealt a piss poor hand by the rest of the cast. I started getting tired of Jack Carter beating his head against the wall of Global Dynamics in the form of Nathan Stark and his former paramour Allison Blake. Henry evolved or devolved during the season. Fargo. Jo and other characters evolved somewhat. Max Frewer's character continued ti pique my imagination inspite of being a Max Headroom clone.

A favorite for many years.
I was a complete fan when this show was on TV and saw most of them when they originally aired. I have come back to watch them again. Nothing particularly deep, predictive, or anything like that. Just a fun show when you do not feel like putting in the effort to follow a plot. Just sit back and laugh a little. And that's not a bad thing.

Eureka - They did it again.
Season Two of Eureka was much more assured of its place as a deserving piece of television, The humour remained present throughout the season, But there was a darker edge to the entire run of episodes for season 2.Stark loses his job as head of the company due to the dramatic death caused by the artifact at the end of season 1 and is replaced by his ex-wife Allison, Allison slots into her role fairly easy but at the cost of losing a lot of her warmth and ability to empathise with those around her.But both of them spend the season trying to work out and remove Allison's son Kevin's connection to the artifact.Fargo is well Fargo and remains amusing and amazingly stupd for a genius. But its the relationship between Carter and his daughter that has blossomed this season the most, No longer looking to run away at any opportunity, Zoe starts to embrace Eureka and when her mum comes looking to take her away as per the agreement with her dad, its her reluctance that eventually convinces her mum that she should stay with her father Sheriff Carter as both of them belong in Eureka. But by far the biggest shift in this series is the relationship between Carter and the resident genuis of Eureka Henry, Henry secretly resents Carter, blaming him for the death at the end of Season 1, early in the season Henry wipes Carters mind and after promising to use the device on himself he destroys it instead. Henry's motivations throughout season 2 are cloudy and its impossible to know whether he is becoming an edgy hero or an out and out bad guy.But with Eureka nothing is ever as it seems to be, A definite must buy purchase if you liked Eureka Season One just a little, Come on back to this quiet little town where nothing much happens :).
