Great chain lubricant
Having bought this I decided that from that day on I would take care of my chain the way it deserves, and this has really helped. I cleaned it once and apply this lubricant as directed and it has meant and incredibly smooth ride on my Felt Z5.It's also purple, which is excellent.

Slick Oil
I have had this before and it is a great lube for bikes. Simple, clean and all weather. I would definitely recommend!

but still the best I have
Chain and rear cassette stay really clean using this stuff. Does not last the 400 miles it suggest on the bottle, but still the best I have found

Works brilliant
This oil gives smooth operation and so far has worked seamlessly to date. I don't know if it works in the rain and dust but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Doesn't Last with a horrible support kicker.
Why does this stuff get such good reviews? When my old bottle of White Lightning ran dry, I decided to give this a try based on the great reviews and the 400 mi claim. The dry white lightning only lasted 200-300 mi. This stuff doesn't make it past 100mi at best and more likely 60 mi under ideal dry conditions before the drive train starts to make a racket. That's at least 2 or three applications a week for me, making this the most expensive chain lube I've ever used. Don't forget to put a rag under the entire drive train and a bit behind the bike too, thus stuff is thin and drippy. Better yet, use wd40, though not technically a lubricant at all it will probably last longer than Purple extreme{ly poor}.Adendum; I thought I was possibly abrupt at giving this review in light of all the positive reviews here (which is why I bought this stuff in the first place) so I reached out to the company. The call I had with I believe the owner was absolutely horrible. Instead of taking the opportunity to win back a dissatisfied customer, he pontificated and blammed me for... Well everything I could do or did in the past. I felt I was treated like a chronically misbehaving child by a abusive parent, not a customer that should be valued. It was only my sales training and politeness that prevented me from hanging up on him. I had considered taking down this review when I reached out, but the review stands and I strongly suggest buying from anyone else. I'm currently using a muc off product with good results and the white lightning I used previously worked fine, even though according to bike medicine, I'm incapable of cleaning a chain. Possibly the worst customer support call I've ever had and 10 minutes I'll never get back.

I recommend removing it from your chain with WD40 and using ...
I ride road and Triathlon. I push 200W average/FTP. I used thiis on my chains almost every other rides and despite this had two Shimano Ultegra chain failures before I figured out that this product is not really a lubricant and causes the chain to go dry quickly. This product should be banned. It dries quickly, coats nothing. It cost me two chains.I recommend removing it from your chain with WD40 and using a Park Tool Oil.BUYER BEWARE - terrible product

Great chain lube
Over the years I've tried numerous chain lubes and they all seem to fall short of the desired effect. Clean well oiled chain attracts dirt and things go south quickly. Extreme Purple goes on wet and once the carrier oil flashes off what is left behind is a dry extremely effective dry lube that resist dirt attraction. One suggestion I would make is to help mother nature out a bit. If you follow the instructions you are to apply , wipe excess, and let sit over night for best results. The problem I've had is unless the weather is extremely warm the carrier oil never seems to evaporate leaving once again a wet chain prone to dirt attraction. What I do now and works great is this. Clean the chain. Roll into a flat tight circle and place on a piece on scrap ceramic tile. Take an electric heat gun an warm the chain so its nice and warm. Now with the chain heated apply the chain oil. You can see it being sucked into the rollers . If the oil smokes the chain is to hot. Now once lubed put the chain on the bike. Now if correctly done the chain is still a little damp. Take the heat gun and while turning the crank slowly warm the chain as it rotates drying the remaining oil. Once dry Purple Extreme works great and preforms as promised.

Not a lube but some kind of voodoo magic..
Living in the mountains of North Carolina and working in the bike industry I’ve tried many different lubricants over 20 years. Some better than others but when I put this on the first time and went for a 3 hour ride in the rain and mud it took some serious abuse. I washed my bike in the creek to clean the brakes out and washed mud off the drive train twice and still it’s the first time I’ve ridden in throes conditions and not have my drivetrain grind on the ride up. It literally didn’t seem possible..! Not sure what’s in this stuff but it’s some kind of force field for dirt because I’ve never experience such smooth drivetrain even in the dry!!Will definitely be my go to for lines from now on.

Fantastic Chain Lube ! Highly recommend.
This is the best lubricant I’ve tried yet. I used T9 for years. This Purple Extreme is fantastic. Cleaning your chain is critical before applying this lube.I used Acetone and let it soak for an hour after scrubbing it. Then apply this lube. Really quiets the chain substantially. I have about 500 miles on the chain since applying and it’s still holding up. I just wipe it a bit after my rides. It does have a really strong smell to it when applying not after it’s dry no whatsoever. Highly recommend this lube.
