Surprised and pleased that this toaster is really efficient and dependable . I have put it to the test everyday for two weeks and am pleased that once I set the toaster on 4 for unfrozen toast it is so evenly toasted . I like my toast a little darker and crunchy. I have used the frozen method as well and also used the 4 setting. I use bakery bread from the grocery store that is sliced in oval slices and they pop up just fine. It takes only a couple of toastings to get the hang of this new toaster. I like the smaller size and the black color that blends in. Just plain and simple and it works.

Very sturdy build, doesn't feel weak or if it'll break. Convenient size, not too bulky, cooks bread slices evenly, love the bagel setting as well. Fits right into a modern style kitchen easily, looks great too! Picked a great color, matches our other appliances.

Good normal but reliable toaster with wide slots for every kind of bread... i've still may choose an inteligent more expensive one because want all my devices to be voice controlled

Finally! a toaster that works right. I have tried a couple of other brand name toasters and my toast was never right and they couldn't handle thicker bread/buns.This toaster is great. My bread is toasted just at the setting I put it on and it handles my buns. Very happy with my Amazon Basics toaster.

This is a great little toaster. Perfect for my little family. Fits perfect on my small counter. Looks nice. Toasts well. Nice size. Has all the same features as a more expensive one. I definitely recommend this toaster.

Cheap and does what a toaster does: toasting.

I revised this rating from one star to three stars due to the outstanding service provided by Amazon in taking the product back and refunding our money. It doesn't fix the product but allows us to continue buying from Amazon with confidence.We were prepared to spend more money on one of the Consumer Reports top picks but saw this toaster on Amazon and thought it was a great combination of high ratings and good price. Unfortunately, the toaster does not work in that the lever will not stay in the down position. The heating elements work but not the lever. I turned the toaster upside down and tapped it in case there was packaging material stuck inside, but no luck. We should have stuck with my first choice. Very disappointed.

I have it set to 2.5 of max 6 heating positions. Anything over that burns the toast. Toasting also isn’t perfectly even but for $20, it gets the job done and looks good overall.
