Works very well
I would have given it 5 stars but the bearing allows a bit of slop which will cause cutting to be less than accurate if you push upward while moving. This was definitely not a deal breaker since this tool requires human contact 100% during use. I was able to machine an adapter to fit it on my lathes crossslide and learn the adjustment variables within a couple hours and turned a perfect 1” ball the first time. With the free prime shipping, this is the best option for me. Amazing tool for the price.

Don’t get your hopes up
This is a trinket/novelty piece and I’ve yet to find a practical use for it. The construction is solid, materials are quality. If only I could find a use for it🤣

Height to center of chuck
Height is very short. You might need to make additional height block to get to center of chuck

It works!
It's designed to be used on a metal lathe, but I used it on wood. Mounted solidly to the lathe bed on a 4" X 6" walnut riser, I've been able to use this tool to turn spherical finials from .5 to 1.2" diameter on the end of a spindle. Steady rest and a light touch required.
