The first time my wife and I traveled to Europe was during the pandemic and my wife became sick towards the end. At that point we were in Italy, staying at a hotel in a small community near the airport. Unfortunately, the community wasn't really a tourist area, so no one spoke any english. After being on the phone so much arranging our flights I found that it was acting up and becoming unreliable. On the second visit to the local pharmacy I had translated enough Italian words phonetically to get the medications my wife needed, but WOW would have this pen came in handy.We have been to Italy several times since, and are in the process of learning Italian, but this pen has worked well in the learning process. The multiple functions of this pen are amazing. The home screen is clear and laid out somewhat well. There is a selection for almost every translation need I can think of. My favorite is probably the voice translation, but the word scan has been useful in the learning process. The batteries last a long time and I haven't had it run out on me yet. I am fully looking forward to taking this to Italy with us soon.Overall, I love the translator pen and have considered getting a second as a backup.

I can see this being incredibly useful for travelling. For example, when trying to navigate a menu in a language you don't understand. The speech translation also works very well.But I can also see this being useful for people who are struggling to read because it can "read" and say out loud the words on a document.

This is well made, feels good holding, scanning is alright, tried it on a tablet and it didn't do so good. There are a lot of programs on it for elementary Chinese students learning English alphabet and vocabulary with words and phrases and pronunciation, math, Chinese Poems which I haven't figured out yet. The Dictionary is for English to Chinese text or English to Japanese text, Chinese to English text, others I don't understand. At this time I would give a 2 stars. I mainly wanted it for Spanish offline so it will scan documents and hear and translate to English text thru wifi. Overall I think it is geared more toward students. Worth the money for its purpose.
