Dyson Airwrap Origin set
The Dyson Airwrap Origin set is awesome! From what I understand it's the full airwrap base, with a limited selection of accessories. The reduced selection is not a problem! The volumizing brush, the curling wrap wand, and the flyaway smoother are all so useful. I have fine hair that is very prone to breakage so a gentle styling tool is ideal, and this set really seems kind to my hair. I need to add product to my hair to get it to keep the curl, as usual, so it's not a miracle perfect hair forever button, but it is very useful. It has a nice long cord at 8.5' and swivels well so you can really move around while using it.The volumizing barrel is very handy to smooth and lift and even get a style, you could easily look awesome just by using this with the flyaway tool as a followup. The bristles are sturdy and a match for thicker hair, though I do take care not to tug or tanglewhile using it with my very fine hair.My hair is a bit longer than shoulder length and I find the air wrap tool makes it so, so easy to curl. You can literally let the airwrap pull your entire lock of hair around the barrel with minimal hand wrapping, though I found better control helping it with starting the ends at minimum. The curls are beautiful and versatile depending on direction and placement and your haircut, so you can use this to create a lot of different looks. I also used it on my partner's very long very thick hair to similar beautiful effect, just waiting longer to let the heat set and then cool, and I'm now looking at the 40mm curling attachment to better suit that hair as well. If you have shorter than chest length hair the provided 30mm wand is perfectly adequate. The flyaway smoother, which also serves as a decent blow drying attachment by twisting the knob around, is amazing. Seriously so, so easy. I was stunned at how well it calmed my flyaways, of which I have many. I don't know how it works, but I love it. This hair dryer makes styling so much less irritating and it makes so much sense once you get the hang of it. It is a great high quality tool and I strongly recommend it for folks looking for low stress styling with consistent results.

Very nice but not life changing!
I expected this Dyson AirWrap to be life changing based on all of the hype and popularity. And it is nice, but not quite what I expected.First, I should note that I typically use a Shark FlexFusion so that is going to be what I am comparing the Dyson to. I should also note that I have very long, very thick wavy hair that tends to frizz. The Dyson dried my hair quickly and was very comparable to the Shark. The air curlers were also comparable and worked well. The issue for me with the Dyson is that there isn't an in between attachment. The dryer attachment also has a smoothing function which works very well for taming the fly aways and frizz, but it wasn't enough to truly straighten my thick hair as it mainly just smoothed the outer most layer. For the price, I really felt like this set should come with a flat or paddle type brush attachment. I ended up buying a third party brush attachment and that ended up working great for me. Once I had my hair fairly straight with that brush, I switched to the smoothing feature and then the air curlers. I was happy with the final results. So for me, it's a bit of a toss up. If I had to choose only one, the Shark works better for me.Drying - The Dyson and Shark were comparable.Straightening - The Shark FlexFusion wins this, hands down. It comes with an attachment that is pretty much a flat iron that straightens my hair better than anything else I've ever tried.Smoothing fly aways - I did like this feature of the Dyson.Air Curlers - Toss up for me, but I did like that the Dyson attachment can switch directions while the Shark requires a left attachment and a right attachment.Round brush - The Dyson round brush attachment didn't really impress me compared to the Shark. The Shark round brush attachment also has straightening plates and worked better for my hair.Diffuser - The Shark includes a diffuser. The Dyson does not. I was able to buy a 3rd party Diffuser attachment which worked well, but it seems like this should be included.
