Excellent book by an excellent historian. Hopefully, it is historically accurate.

I thought this was an amazing story very well written that details the destruction wreaked upon the indigenous people by my pilgrim forebearers.

Book was exactly as described and in excellent condition due to quality packaging. Received it quickly. An excellent and very satisfying purchase. This author really did his research on the historical facts and is in my opinion, an excellent writer. The story flows well, specific details are included to draw the reader into the story and marvel at what the Pilgrims went through and were willing to risk because they believed the truth. I wish everyone who teaches about the early settlers would read this. I don't remember hearing anything near the description of this event...not from grade school through Masters degree. An incredible read that is difficult to put down!

This is a fantastic book for anyone wanting to know more about what really happened between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. It is unvarnished and real and truly shares the dynamics of the time and the consequences of all peoples that led to the founding of this country. As a Mayflower descendant, this book was a tremendous gift in understanding how and why my distant relative Frances Cook came to this country. This is an excellent and well researched book for anyone wanting to know more about their descendants.

interesting history of the beginning of Massachusetts........I enjoyed this book as I live near Plymouth and have always enjoyed going there to visit the historic sights and places.....in addition the Plymouth Plantation Village where history is re-enacted makes this book much more vivid in it's descriptions of the people who came to the new world and their experiences in trying to establish a new home .....

This book provides terrific insight and detail into a part of our history I could not imagine to know so intimately. I'm grateful to the author for the work he did here.

The best book out there! I love Philbrick and have other books by him. He tells it like it is...and is up front about it all. Thank you Nathaniel Philbrick for this wonderful book. If you want to know the truth about what "really" happened, buy this book you won't be disappointed I read it in 3 days cover to cover and it's a favorite.

I loved this book. It captivates and trills with bits of history that one may never have heard before... It opens ones mind to the reality of what the early settlers experiences in their travels and in the years after they landed int he "New World." I love the author and have read 3 or 4 of his books...
