Takes care of eliminating birds with a breeze
So usually once a year it seems for the past three years a bird will find its way down my chimney. Most recent case was Tuesday this week as my wife and mother-in-law were shocked to discover another bird came by for a visit. I wanted something that was cost effective, safe, and could quickly get the job done. I came across this baby on Amazon by luck. This was the only item that was available to be delivered to my door the very next day if I ordered within a certain time limit. Got the item today. Assembly was easy as I was ready within seconds. I was able to safely remove the bird from my chimney and back to the great outdoors within 3 minutes tops! Highly recommend as it has nice length and the material is very strong. Most importantly you feel safe as you're trying to secure and release.

Grasshoppers for hungry girls.
Bought it for catching grasshoppers to feed to our chickens hens. The item itself is great. Only regret not getting the one with the bigger opening.

Works great so far!
So far I'm pretty dang happy with this butterfly net. I've only had opportunity to use it once, but it definitely did the job for catching a big beautiful moth that found its way into my apartment the night I received the net. No assembly instructions were included, but the thing really is not hard to put together. I love being able to adjust the length of the handle or collapse the ring for more compact storage.I haven't really had a chance to test the net's durability, but the handle is metal (hollow, so it's nice and lightweight) and seems like it should hold up to being swung around like you would normally use a butterfly net. (I don't think it would hold up if used for swordfighting, though.) The ring is also metal and seems sturdy. The mesh/netting seems reasonably durable too. I'll probably update this review when I've had a chance to use the net some more. But my first impressions are definitely good!

This Net Folds Nicely!
I finally got a chance to use my new butterfly net this weekend. It worked very well, and one thing I liked really well was how well it folds up. The pole telescopes, and closes down to about 16". The net comes off the pole, and folds to approximately 12" X 7". This allows the complete system to fit in a small pack along with specimen jars (for easier identification, I release after I catch), and my field guide. Some customers complained about loose strings., which I did notice at the beginning of my day. The net is reinforced with nylon fabric, and this unraveled a bit until it reached the stitches that held it onto the actual net. As soon as the extra fabric had unraveled, the strings were easily removed. I do not think it will continue to unravel, as it is attached with a "serged" stitch, which should prevent further unraveling. The whole system is lightweight but sturdy, I hope to use it many more times, as I expect to participate in future butterfly counts.

Lightweight but likely to break. Net cheaply made with relatively large holes.
I got this net for catching bees as part of the state bee atlas. I like that it is lightweight overall, which would be nice for using out in the field all day. The ring itself is configured in three pieces that bend at the joints, probably with the goal of making it easier to get the net on and off. I would prefer a solid ring like Bioequip nets. This ring is likely to break and indeed I had a similar one that broke in the field. I like being able to extend the handle, but to do so you have tighten/losen rings on the handle. I wish these were clamps which we would be faster, more secure, and less likely to losen while in use. Same with how the ring attaches to the handle - it is screwed on which makes possible to come lose during use. An improvement on this version over another model is the screw onto which you screw the handle onto is fixed in position. In another version it wasn't and it made it nearly impossible to really tighten. Now to the net. It is cheaply and poorly sewn, although the main net mesh itself seems sturdy. There is overhanging/extra fabric on all the seems, which means when the seems are on the inside, insects can get stuck/hide between the seem and the wall of the net. The length of the net is great - long enough to easily flip over the net ring to capture the insects. The mesh hole size is too large for my use. Many of the small bees I target could easily fit through the holes. If you are only targeting larger insects, it should be fine.Pros: lightweight, collapsible, good net lengthCons: size of net holes, poor net sewing, probably easy to break (especially the net ring) if not careful.

Fine soft netting
Bought to try to catch a parakeet that was flying in my neighborhood, but was not able to catch him because I think he found his way back home. But the product seems like it would work and soft enough not to hurt the bird.

Very sturdy , not just a toy !
There were no instructions , although it came mostly assembled , the ring was collapsible and there was a section in the ring I had to attach and it took me a while to figure it out without braking it . Quite a while. Right when I was about to give up , I got it !This handle is very strong and extends easily . The whole net itself feels like it will last a long time, stronger than just a toy butterfly net .I got it for my little parakeets , one is particularly stubborn and does not want to come back to his cage when I let them fly around . I got him right away very safely ! Great net !
