Great sound, quick delivery
I had to order this standard cut (I prefer the American cut for my punk/ska/surf sound) as the other Tenor 2.0 reeds I ordered off amazon turned out to be alto 2.5's.This reed came very quickly, well packaged, and worked out fantastic for my show.It actually held up to the "bite squeal" thing I do way better than some of the signature cuts, which tend to not hold up so good with that "technique".

Legere reeds for tenor sax
Overall, the Legere synthetic reeds suits the tenor saxophone the best out of the other saxophones, in my opinion. I like it better on my tenor sax than a cane reed so that I play it exclusively. This is not true for alto and bari sax, where I use cane reeds mostly.I found the strength of the Legere reed that I bought for use with a Selmer Soloist "E" tenor sax mouthpiece to be a little too weak: this is a Legere 2.25 strength. For me and that mouthpiece, a 2.5 or a 2.75 is better. My 4 stars rating, instead of 5, is only because of the slightly weak reed, not in any way the fault of Legere.

My humble opinion
I believed this product functions and presented. I am using it on a Martin Committee 3 and a Noblet Paris both tenors. Two completely different sounds with a fast tonal response from either saxophone using the same mouthpiece on both. The 2.25 is exactly where I need to be however, other might prefer a higher strength reed depending on the mouthpiece used. It is great that they offer an exchange policy to see what works best. Enjoy your sound...

Delivered ontime and plays well
I am using synthetic reeds for the fist time after 54 years of using cane. It takes some getting used to but seems to respond well in all registers. It is difficult to know what strength to use. I usually use a 3 1/2 cane reed, but have to use 2 - 2 1/2 with the Legere.

Best synthetic reed
I love Legere reeds. Have them for my clarinets, saxes and bassoon. The buyer needs to clearly understand what they are. In my opinion they are the best available synthetic reed and are indistinguishable from a cane reed by the listener. However choosing the proper strength reed can involve trying several reeds, something best done at a dealer's as returns may not be possible. Just taking a shot that a #3 legere will be the equivalent to a LaVoz medium hard (for example) is likely to disappoint. Legere reeds cannot be scraped or adjusted. If one has never used a Legere before I recommend reading the literature available on the Legere web site (Google is your friend).

Best synthetic reed made, but expensive
This is the best synthetic reed I've tried. I use Legere on all my saxes - alto, tenor, and bari. It's so convenient to not have to wet it or worry about it drying out or warping on you at a gig like a cane reed will do. There are differences in the tone compared to a good cane reed but these differences are pretty subtle - not noticeable by the listener. But as a player it has a little different sound and feel to me. I'd say it's not as warm sounding as a good cane reed. I do recommend legere, I only wish they weren't so expensive!

Legere backs their products
I originally ordered the 2.5 which was to rigid for me. I contacted Legere and they exchanged it for a 2.25 Signature series. My sax teacher was surprised with the tone and clarity of a synthetic reed.

Great
My husband was a symphony member, had his own big band, etc. and was determined he didn't like plastic reeds. A friend talked him into trying Legere. He uses them now on both alto and tenor sax. Super great since we retired to Colorado and often 10% humidity. He can play saxes and clarinet one after the other without wetting reeds.

Initial impressions are excellent. My first dive into the world of synthetic ...
Initial impressions are excellent. My first dive into the world of synthetic reeds since the awful ones I tried in the mid 80s and it's shattered my prejudice against them. There's an ever so subtle difference in feel to a cane reed but after 30 minutes or so I'd become completely accustomed to it. It blows consistently and cleanly from low B flat all the way through the altissimo register. Bell tone pianissimo is good. Tuning and intonation is consistent everywhere. Staccato is crisp and clean. The sound is quite dark; not bright and edgy but I understand that this is the nature of the Legere 'classic' and it's the 'cool jazz' sound I prefer....think Lester Young, Stan Getz etc. I'm very happy to stay with it and turn my back on the '1 goodish reed in 5' that was the norm with cane reeds. I've been blowing Rico 3-3.5 reeds for donkeys years and as the research I did suggested, this 2.5 is a good equivalent. I only received it yesterday and I've played it for about 5 hours so I can't comment on longevity but I can report that it was good to go from the off and didn't need blowing in; its character and feel remained consistent. I'd recommend any sceptic give one a try....I'm impressed.

Too stiff for me to get a decent sound
I normally use a 2.5-3.0 normal read but I find this 2.5 just too stiff to get a good sound. I have to blow much harder. I have only been playing for 18 months so I could be the problem rather than the read.

Excellent reed
Very good tone quality. Bell tones easy to produce. I've had to work a bit on altissimo register with the reed but that too has now worked out fine. It's so convenient to just pick up and play with this reed in place.....no soaking and I've even got a little lazy when it comes to removing the reed from the mouthpiece at the end of the day. I now remove it every third day just to clean the mouthpiece. It maybe just a TINY bit less brilliant than that '1 in 10' cane reed that you select which plays like an absolute dream but it's a minute sacrifice I'm prepared to make for consistency and longevity that this synthetic reed provides.

Amazing!
I wasn’t sure about a “plastic” reed but DANG! It’s nice!!! Feels great too and has an amazing sound. Worth the money!!

Better than a reed reed
Bought an Odyssey Saxophone Outfit which came with couple of 1.5 strength reeds, but all I could get out of them were squeaks. Bought one of these synthetic reeds after reading a review in the Internet and have never looked back. Every note comes out good (even though I'm a beginner), it never needs wetting, it can be left in the mouthpiece and it lasts for absolutely ages.
