Berkey water filters
They filter out odors and contaminants and are free flowing. They work as they should and are a great value. There are so many ways our food and water can be contaminated. These filters can at least give some peace of mind. Long lasting with periodic cleaning.

excellent filtration system
I have a wilderness cabin and use this to filter cistern water for drinking and cooking. The cistern water has to be lightly chlorinated to prevent biological contamination. These filters remove any particulates and microorganisms, but the chlorine also. The result tastes as good as the best bottled water. It should be noted that a friend who lives in the Phoenix area (notoriously hard water) said she was hoping it would improve taste and smell of city water but in some cases (like hers) this won't be so.

Fits great, awesome price, but flows very fast.
No issues with fitting in the Royal berkey housing.My only concern is that it filters the water at least 20-30x faster than the original berkey filters. I used the stock filters for 2 years, and they took about an hour to filter 5 gallons. These new filters (I’m using 2) filters 5 gallons in just a few minutes. The berkey filters would drip very slowly, these nearly pour out into the bottom.Water tastes fine, but I also scrubbed, sanitized and replaced the filters.Anyway, for 1/8th of the cost, I’m happy with these.

Poor quality.
Poor quality. Water runs through quickly, and tastes the same as water straight from the faucet. These filters don't compare to Berkey black filters. Waste of money.

Great lower price option if you are price sensitive...
These work great for the price on our Berkey Light water dispenser. However, we do have to change them more often than other filters, but still, worth the price vs. performance.

The filters seem to work as expected and produce a clean pure water.

Just like the name brand!
We put this right into our Berkeley filter and it works great and immediately passed the dye test. No leakage and great value, so much more affordable than Berkey brand products and very easy to install.
