The active ingredient in the Micorbe-Lift BMC is 8% Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies israelensis, which is equivalent to 1,200 International Toxic Units per milligram (ITU/mg) or 4.84 Billion ITU/gallon or 1.2 Billion ITU/liter. Q: How do you use it - how much do you add per volume water?

One drop per gallon in bird baths. It is very effective.

Hi Drucie, and thanks for reaching out to us with your question! So the Bti products, which is contained in the Microbe-Lift BMC, only work against gnat LARVAE, so it has to be sprayed where they are found, which for fungus gnats is in the soil surrounding the plants. The adults are found on plants, and this product is not effective against adult gnats. For insects eating the foliage, we suggest products that contain spinosad, such as Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew.
