Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (Japanese Edition) Board book – January 1, 1998

I dislike that Amazon won’t allow me to post my review in Japanese, even though that’s the language of the book. The book is wonderful. My baby loves this book! It has beautiful pictures (although they are slightly different from the English language version). It’s very easy to read. It’s great for practicing Japanese.

The book is beautiful. It came wrapped in plastic so the book wasn't damaged at all. It felt pristine on all the edges. I understand this is a children's book and inevitably it'll get damaged but I love a good clean undamaged book delivered to my door.

The translation is very good and still has a fun rhythm."Mr Bear, Mr Bear, Mr Brown Bear, what are you looking at?" (Kuma-San, Kuma-San, chairoi Kuma-San, nani miteru no?)Unfortunately, the art is definitely lower quality than the English counterpart. But I expected that from the picture of the cover in the listing, so I can't count off stars for it. The book itself is sturdy and well made. Overall I like it.

Double the price but worth purchasing in my opinion.

Got this so that a Japanese speaker/reader could read to my toddler. I will say, I noticed the illustrations are slightly different than the English version- animals are "cuter" and less sharply drawn, if that makes sense. The last character is a mother whereas in the English version, she is a teacher. Minor differences likely done for cultural reasons, but I thought I'd point them out since I'm so familiar with the English version.

I bought this book to help me learn to read Japanese as a beginner.

Very fun easy to read and practice Japanese.
