Makerhawk DC28 Voltage/Amp/Watt meter displays max volts/amps/watts as desired
As a hobby, I shoot digital pictures with OM/Olympus mirrorless cameras. I have delved into the rabbit hole of wanting to understand the power draw of a camera when doing an action (such as the difference between using the viewfinder and rear monitor in terms of power usage). For testing, I use a power source that provides a fixed voltage, and I measure the watts that are used and I hook that up to a dummy battery in the camera. What I'm most interested in is the getting the maximum watts used for this operation. With other volt/amp meters, I would need to do a test with bluetooth support, and then go over the graph on the phone to find the max. watts used. This is tedious. So, I went looking for a volt/amp meter that displayed maximum volts/amps/watts on one of the screens, and by pressing a button, I could reset the stats (so I could ignore the watts needed while turn on the camera). This is evidently a rare feature.Several of the newer USB C meters had this feature. I rigged up a 5.5mm x 2.1mm to/from USB C and I did the tests. Unfortunately this meter did not reset the maximum volts/amps/watts display, just the time used (and presumably total watt/amp hour usage, which I wasn't interested in).So I searched again and I found the Makerhawk DC28 meter. Unlike the other meter I had purchased and the Makerhawk C2301, the DC28 takes a 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug in and out, which meant I don't have to use a 5.5mm x 2.1mm to/from USB C adapter, but I can measure the power directly. The Makerhawk DC28 shows the maximum numbers like I want, and when I press the button for 3 seconds, it will reset the maximums without turning off the power to the device. Exactly what I wanted.

It works
Works. As expected

Useful
Very useful for many low-voltage DC purposes. I was glad it works with both DC5521 and DC5525 plugs and jacks.I only wish it was easier to read in bright lighting for applications like light-duty solar power accumulation.

Works great at a good price.
I love it. The screen is small but clear. I wish you could rotate the screen, but maybe I just haven't figured that out yet. I would recommend.

Does what it says!
It does as what it says on the tin... amp, voltage and whatnot display. Great screen!

Handles all USB-C voltages
Used this to measure the power feeding into a drone charger. Told me exactly what was being drawn, definitely handles max USB-C voltage and current. Just plug and play, no fuss.

Don't Buy
The screen is so small it's practically impossible to read. The numbers are so crunched together to fit in this tiny screen that it just mixed together. It's actually laughable. Returning.
